IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE

Triage

  • Our triage team are trained to take calls from individuals who might be nervous or reluctant about calling or unsure about what they’re supposed to say.

  • They are trained in helping you to decide what support you may require. You do not have to know what support you need prior to contacting us.

  • If you don't feel comfortable calling us right now you can text, email or fill in an online contact form. A member of our triage team will get in touch with you shortly after this has been done.

Therapists

  • All therapists on our network are highly qualified and fully insured, with some being ex-professional athletes. You will get a say in whether you see a male or female therapist and whether you prefer online or in person sessions.

  • The vast majority of our clients are within a one hour drive of a therapist on our network and in most instances, you’ll have your first session booked within 48 hours of your initial call to Sporting Chance.

  • We have a number of specialist therapists. Where possible we will match you with a therapist who has experience and expertise relevant to your presenting issue.

  • Courses of one-to-one therapy vary in length depending on individual circumstances but ordinarily consist of between six to twelve sessions.

  • Therapy is usually funded by our stakeholders - to find whether you are eligible for this service visit our Get Support page.

You

  • You are in control of this process and you get to decide if you want to take the next step. You might talk to a member of our triage team and decide you don’t want to take this any further. That’s fine.

  • Confidentiality is at the heart of everything we do. If you are over 18 years of age, Sporting Chance has no duty to contact any related stakeholders with regards to a client and would not do so without the your consent.

  • Even if you're unsure if you qualify for our services it is still worth giving us a call. We will try to help wherever possible, either through our benevolent fund or by signposting you to where else you can get help.
